Mission Statement
Northminster Presbyterian Church of Las Cruces, New Mexico, is a congregation
of the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A., and as such, it recognizes its
relationship with the Presbytery of Sierra Blanca, the Synod of the Southwest,
and the General Assembly of the PCUSA and the Constitution of the PCUSA is in
all its provisions obligatory upon it and its members. Northminster recognizes
its oneness with all other followers of Christ as they are found in other
denominations of the Church Universal.
We believe that the task of the church is to call men and women to a vital
faith in the Almighty God through Jesus Christ, to provide the kind of
Christian witness and nurture which by God's grace will bring church members
to spiritual maturity, and to serve the cause of Jesus Christ by following
him in acts of love, mercy, faith, and justice in our daily lives. We also
believe that God set the church in the world to proclaim his reality, power,
and reconciling love through Jesus Christ and that God has called us to Himself
to be His individual and corporate agents of reconciliation here in Las Cruces.
These things we do by God's grace.
We are called to be a neighborly congregation that will serve the needs of
persons of all age levels. Northminster welcomes all persons into its
fellowship regardless of religious background. Within the framework of the
Presbyterian Church USA, we seek to offer Christian experience alternatives.
